Holidays for Heroes Rideout 2026

We were very lucky with the weather for this year's Holidays For Heroes Rideout here in Jersey. The temperature reached over 30 degrees and there was not a single cloud in the sky.

There were 550 bikes including 12 scooters.

The scooterists met at Gorey before riding to St Catherine's together, as this is the meeting place before the ride out begins. The bikers love seeing the scooters arrive. Lots had their cameras out taking pictures as went past. Who would have thought the sound of a hair dryer and the sight of a road legal lawn mower could be so appealing to onlookers!

There were some amazing bikes taking part. Before long it was time to saddle up and get ready to start the procession of bikes from St Catherine's to St Ouen's. This is quite a spectacle and a large number of bystanders were watching us from the pavement.

The first part of the rideout took us along the east coast of the island. It was exhilarating to be with so many bikes. People in their cars were beeping at us and waving out their windows as we rode past, along with the many pedestrians that were cheering us all on. The pavements were mobbed.

We made a quick pit stop at La Collette so everyone could regroup. The temperature had not dropped and the sports bikes needed to cool down. This also gave me time to take videos and photos before heading off again to the last stop at The Watersplash at St Ouen.

We rode through St Aubin's and St Ouen's which brought us close to The Watersplash and decided to stop at Corbiere just before the last destination. We parked up and watched the last of the rideout come past before heading back home.

It was a brilliant day and over £9,000.00 was raised for the charity. I am looking forward to the next one! Watch this space for more write ups.
