Vespa PX Float Problem

Last weekend I decided it was time to start my Grey Vespa PX as it had not had a run for most of this year. It came to life on the third kick which was quite a surprise, seeing how long it had been dormant. But that thrill was short lived.

The next day at the workshop I noticed a large pool of fuel underneath the scooter. After a quick look I could see that I had not turned the fuel tap to the off position. This was indeed a school boy error. However, the float should have stopped the leak.

I removed the carburetor box cover and saw fuel inside the carb tray too. I pulled the carburetor apart removing the old float and float needle. I am currently waiting for replacements to arrive. This should sort the issue.
